Primary Colours at Docklands.
It all began with Heather & Ruth deciding their brief and palette was inspired by the surrounding docklands area. Bright reds & yellows merging with dark blues and moody greys- this wasn’t going to be your usual wedding.
Being strictly seasonal, we had limited stems and varieties to work with. Thankfully with stunning blossoming forsythia, red tulips, mixed gooey yellow daffodils and the start of pansies we could make these installs work so well. We replaced blues with dark linen draped material and used cement and painted terracotta pots to reflect the surrounding deeper greys and blues.
Ruth and Heather were clear and confident in their ideas, they knew that the food, flowers and everything in between was to be seasonal and therefore, sustainable. They trusted in the process, even though I am sure Heather was a bit unsure about the draping material at first.
With the most amazing north london grown daffodils, early ranunculus from cornwall, lots of wonderful tulips from Smith and Munson, fabulous surrey grown Forsythia we created an incredible arch for the ceremony and moving it to the reception area as a large backdrop/ photo area.
Being a part of this beautiful marriage was a huge honour for me. Both Ruth and Heather took the majority of flowers home in buckets- so nothing went to waste. Just how we like it!
